Eyecatcher wall covering!

VEREINIGTE HAGEL (weather insurance), based in Giessen near Frankfurt, is, in its own words, "Europe's leading specialist insurer for weather risks" in the field of agricultural crop cultivation. In addition to storms, heavy rainfall and frost, the main risk is hail.

Due to the fact that the amount of agricultural damage has increased significantly in recent years - and thus also the volume of insurance - the old building has become too small over time. So a new building was needed!

MOHO 1 GmbH from Frankfurt was entrusted with the interior design of the new building. In accordance with the insurance company's orientation, the office's approach was to make the company's history visible. A hailstone had to be created.

The particular challenge was not to repeat individual "hailstones" within the cladding and to create a continuous structure of hailstones on the walls and corners - these naturally extended over a large number of walls. Doors and their frames also had to follow this approach.

This is where the advantages of VARICOR® came into their full scope: The material can be sawn, milled, sanded, glued without joints - and even deformed if necessary!

3D milling was used to create from the material extraordinary relief patterns. The individual panels were then joined together seamlessly.

The result is an impressive interior architecture of cold concrete and elegant VARICOR®.
